Dead Computers Cannot Be Rejuvenated
I recently attempted to save the Windows XP personal computer of an acquaintance. My experience with this jerk, made me realize that I should qualify or clarify exactly what I mean by rejuvenate a slow computer.
Do I really have to state the obvious? Apparently, so. Yes, it is more than possible to abuse your installed copy of Windows XP to the point where your piece of hardware called an IBM personal computer is dead for all practical purposes. Folks, when Windows XP is reporting that the program is missing every time that you try to run something, such as system restore, then your PC is dead and is beyond repair.
Is a personal computer, with only 128 MG of RAM, two USB ports, has it guts hanging out, with a CD-ROM drive that is not working; really worth fixing? I hardly think so! Shouldn’t this be rather obvious?
Nevertheless, as I have previously reported, a personal computer running Windows XP that has been properly operated and maintained over the years naturally slows down the older the computer gets. Visualize a large company or organization with a large number of departments, personal computers, and employees. A given computer could have been used by a number of different departments and employees. Installing and uninstalling a large number of programs is what bogs down your Registry. These are the types of computers that I am talking about. These are the types of computers that can easily be rejuvenated.
Likewise, any computer either new or old that has been surfing the Web unprotected will over time collect stuff on it that will slow the computer down. Any PC that has been surfing the Internet for years can have its performance improved.
Killing Your Personal Computer
Make the wrong move, and you can indeed destroy your computer in just a matter of minutes. Just about the worst thing that you can do to a PC is turn off the power while it is running. Kill the power, while your Anti-Virus program is scanning your system disk for viruses, and you have all but destroyed your computer.
System Problems
Computer rejuvenation is about speeding up and improving the performance of a personal computer. It positively is NOT about fixing system problems; such as the computer automatically rebooting, being stuck in safe mode, or experiencing the blue screen of death. Nor, will it fix hardware problems such as a defective hard drive or RAM.
Time is money, and that about says it all.
When your installed copy of Windows XP dies, your piece of perfectly good hardware called a personal computer has effectively become garbage, fit only for spare parts. The only exception would be for those lucky enough to have the original Windows XP installation CD. And, even then a positive outcome is not all that certain.
Likewise, when you personal computer experiences a major hardware failure, then your installed copy of Windows XP is dead, and non-transferable due to a wide variety of very effective Microsoft copyright protection schemes.
Time is money, people. Unless you happen to live totally isolated from civilization on another planet, it positively will be both cheaper and quicker to buy another personal computer, then it would be to spend days and days trying to fix a computer that has died on you; Only to end up with a personal computer, that wont work at all.
