QuickNote is Better than Sticky Notes
Have you ever dreamed about a program that allows users to save impromptu notes at a moments notice? Microsoft Outlook has a popular note taking feature, but is quite awkward to use. QuickNotes by Jens Müller is a little known freeware program that you will soon find to be one of your most often used programs on your personal computer. As the name implies, Quicknote is great for making quick notes.

While you could always use a text editor to take notes, using a good sticky notes program to keep track of your spur of the moment thoughts is distinctively different. First of all, it must be handy to access. Next, all notes jotted down must be automatically saved. Last but not least, the program should allow you to easily organize all of your notes.
Having used JC & MB Quicknote v 5.4 for a few weeks, I can highly recommend it. It is without a doubt my most often used program on my Windows XP personal computer.
QuickNotes is Better than Microsoft Outlook Notes
One problem with Outlook notes is that you first have to access Outlook before you can make a note. While color coding a bunch of squares might look pretty, it is no way to organize your notes.

Quicknote implements a tree structure in its left pane that effectively organizes your notes around categories. Just like with Outlook Notes, you can have the date and time of creation displayed in the title bar of each note. Further, you can reorganize you notes on the fly by dragging them into different categories.
Quicknote Features
Easy Access
Merely doing a mouse passover over a user defined spot will automatically start the note taking process. Or, a user defined quick key combination will bring up Quick notes any where within Windows XP.
Voice Synthesizer
Users can use JC&MB Quicknote v 5.4 by Jens Müller as the ultimate spell checker. The problem with most spell checkers is that while they do catch misspelled words, valid but out of place words are ignored. Quicknote has a revolutionary feature that I can no longer live without. It will actually read out loud your notes back to you using the Microsoft Sam’s voice that is actually one of Windows XP’s built-in accessibility features that is rarely, if ever used by most computer users. Chances are that any word that Microsoft Sam pronounces that does not sound right is either misspelled, or out of place. This voice synthesizer feature enables computer users to catch embarrassing word goofs on documents before they are released to the public.
Copies Windows Messages
Quicknote makes Windows XP more user friendly by letting you easily copy text off of Microsoft Windows programs that Microsoft ordinarily wont let you copy: such as error messages, title bars, file listings, messages in dialog boxes, and help displays. Now you can easily copy text off all your title bars, such as program names. Further, you can copy the file listings from the My Computer Windows program into Excel or another spreadsheet program that will allow you to format each column separately on the file listing; thanks to the revolutionary Quicknote program.

Video Training
Not only does JC&MB Quicknote 5.4 by Jens Müller have an online help page, but eight different Quicknote training videos are provided that come complete with audio. How many freeware programs that you know about that have free online training videos on how to use the program?
QuickNote is Better than Sticky Notes
Paper Post-it notes and Sticky Notes are those little squares of yellow paper that people who work in offices love to stick all over the place. Quite frankly they are not all that good when it comes to organizing information. When it comes to posting notes on your personal computer there are dozens of sticky notes programs to choose from. Most of them duplicate the look of yellow sticky notes quite well, as if that made any sense for a computer. While attractive, they all fall short when it comes to organizing information.
Do yourself a favor and download Quicknote v 5.4 by Jens Müller. After installing it on your computer be sure to watch the first couple of Quicknote training videos. Then actually try using Quick notes for a week. You will never use any other sticky notes program again.
